PROJECT GOAL
I was commissioned by the Hong Kong Student Association to create a poster for their biggest annual event. This year's theme is on landmarks.

INSPIRATION
When I was researching on style, I wanted to capture something illustrative at first, using line art and digital painting. However, I found that using vectors mixed with textures was the most effective way to capture the project goal; to create a mini world that conveys what Hong Kong is.

PROCESS
To start, I sketched out the general idea. HKSA requested that I include six well-known landmarks: Lan Kwai Fong, Ocean Park, Victoria Harbour, Tian Tian Buddha (Big Buddha), NGO 360, and Ladies Market. I wanted each landmark to be prominent on the poster, essentially a condensed world. After I sketched the general form I started to play with color and style. Since Hong Kong is known to have colors that are orange or teal, my final version combines various colors within that spectrum to capture the colorful nature of Hong Kong.
